ALSO: I think I'll try doing my potatoes in a garbage can on the roof this year as well. When potatoes start growing eyes, cut 1" pieces, and let them sit over night. Drill drainage holes into garbage can and put in about a foot of dirt and bury the potato eyes just under the soil. Keep adding dirt as they grow. When plants turn brown and wilt, dig them up ... thanks lw@YGG
